Senior Fullstack Engineer (L4/5)

Location: Remote from New York, Chicago, or Washington, D.C.

Compensation: $250,000–$350,000 USD yearly total compensation, including base salary, equity, and potential incentives.

What you will do

• Own the realtime voice channel, including telephony and CPaaS integrations, streaming speech-to-text and text-to-speech pipelines, model orchestration, latency, and quality.
• Build full-stack product features using React and TypeScript on the frontend, Scala and Python services on the backend, and GCP infrastructure.
• Design multi-tenant systems that support multiple partners through configuration rather than separate code forks.
• Build safety and compliance capabilities, including guardrails, content filtering, and PII redaction integration points.
• Maintain revenue-critical deployments through observability, alerting, incident response, SLA management, and rollback planning.
• Improve engineering practices through code reviews, architecture reviews, mentoring, and collaboration with product, design, and operations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with senior-level ownership of production systems and broad full-stack capability.
• Hands-on experience with realtime systems such as voice applications, WebRTC/SIP, streaming media, or comparable low-latency products.
• Strong React and TypeScript skills, backend experience with Scala or another JVM language and/or Python, and cloud infrastructure experience with GCP or AWS.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, or event-driven systems.
• Operational experience with SLAs, observability, on-call rotations, incident response, and rollback plans.
• Ability to make pragmatic technical tradeoffs, ship iteratively, and communicate effectively across product, design, and operations.

Nice to have

• Conversational AI or LLM orchestration experience, including Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Whisper, or OpenAI Realtime.
• Experience with Twilio, Amazon Connect, Genesys, LiveKit, or other cloud telephony and CPaaS platforms.
• Experience building customer service, CRM, contact center, or workflow automation tools.
• Familiarity with travel technologies such as PSS/GDS and hotel PMS/CRS.
