Software Engineer, Business Technology (AI)

Location: New York City, Seattle, or San Francisco, United States; hybrid attendance at one of the offices is required at least 25% of the time

Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and ship full-stack features across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
• Consult with users and stakeholders to understand workflows and identify high-impact opportunities.
• Turn recurring user needs into reusable primitives, platforms, and middleware.
• Build internal tools that increase autonomy and creative freedom for less-technical users.
• Make product and prioritization decisions, iterate based on feedback, and improve the user experience.
• Learn and apply new tools, frameworks, and domains as products evolve.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building production software, ideally across the full stack.
• Proficiency with Python, TypeScript, and React.
• Ability to independently take a product from idea to launch and operate effectively with ambiguity.
• Experience building platforms, primitives, or internal tools used by others.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to work from one of Anthropic’s US offices at least 25% of the time.
