Software Engineer, Business Technology

Location: New York City, NY; Seattle, WA; or San Francisco, CA. Hybrid work is expected, with staff spending at least 25% of their time in an office.

Annual salary: $320,000–$405,000 USD

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and ship full-stack features across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
• Work directly with users and stakeholders to understand workflows and identify high-impact opportunities.
• Turn recurring user needs into reusable primitives, platforms, and middleware.
• Build internal tools that increase autonomy and creative freedom for less-technical users.
• Make product and prioritization decisions, iterate from feedback, and improve the user experience.
• Learn new tools, frameworks, and domains as products evolve.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building production software, ideally across the full stack.
• Proficiency with Python, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience building platforms, primitives, or internal tools used by others.
• Ability to independently take a product from idea through launch.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to work from one of the listed US offices at least 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience operating as an independent product engineer or team of one.
• Strong systems thinking and experience reducing feature requests into reusable abstractions.
