Accounts Payable Analyst (Fintech)

What you will do

• Extract, clean, and transform data from the warehouse using Hex, SQL, and Python for recurring and ad hoc accounting and finance reports.
• Build and maintain month-end and year-end close reports, including portfolio roll-forwards, charge-off and write-off analysis, and provisioning schedules.
• Support depreciation, amortisation, and effective interest rate modelling for financed devices, reconciling results to accounting records and the general ledger.
• Prepare audit schedules and documentation, ensuring data lineage, calculations, and report logic are reproducible.
• Develop dashboards and automated reporting pipelines, document data sources, and improve the accuracy of recurring reports.
• Investigate data quality issues and discrepancies with accounting, FP&A, data, and engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or accounting support, ideally in financial services, fintech, or a data-intensive environment.
• Working knowledge of accruals, amortisation, depreciation, provisioning or impairment, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in SQL and working proficiency in Python for data analysis and report automation.
• Experience with Excel financial modelling, including formulas and pivot tables; familiarity with large and imperfect datasets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organisation, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to meet month-end and audit deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience in lending, credit, or asset-financing businesses.
• Experience with Hex or similar notebook and BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
• VBA experience.
