Finance Lead - Inventory & Stock Optimisation

What you will do

• Own inventory finance across 1P retail-owned stock and 3P marketplace and consignment stock.
• Maintain reconciled stock positions, landed costs, cost of sales, provisions, write-downs, and month-end close reporting.
• Own WACP calculation and automation, including design, testing, implementation, discrepancy resolution, and audit-ready documentation.
• Manage stock integrations and reconciliations between operational systems and accounting systems, working with IT, Data, Operations, and Logistics.
• Investigate shrinkage, damage, theft, system errors, and process failures while improving loss attribution and financial recovery.
• Build inventory dashboards, KPI scorecards, exception reporting, forecasting models, and automated reporting infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in e-commerce, retail, FMCG, or another data-intensive commercial environment.
• Experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or supply chain finance, including inventory management at scale.
• Hands-on experience with stock and ERP/WMS integrations, reconciliations, and imperfect or fragmented data environments.
• Advanced data analytics skills with SQL and BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau; Python is highly advantageous.
• Experience with finance automation projects, data pipelines, API integrations, and commercial business partnering.

Nice to have

• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification.
• Experience with AI-assisted forecasting, anomaly detection, and process automation.
• Understanding of 1P and 3P business models and their distinct financial dynamics.
