Cybersecurity Intern (Summer 2027)

Salary: $20.00–$40.00 per hour; the final salary depends on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Implement, configure, and monitor data loss prevention tools to prevent unauthorized data exfiltration.
• Analyze DLP alerts and reports and recommend measures to mitigate data leakage risks.
• Support data breach investigations, including root cause analysis and documentation.
• Develop and update data protection policies and procedures.
• Contribute to DLP and broader data protection technology projects.
• Support information security policies, controls, risk assessments, compliance audits, and incident resolution.

Requirements

• Be at least a sophomore and actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field through an accredited program during the internship.
• Maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and good academic standing.
• English fluency in written and verbal communication is required.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Prior internship or co-op experience.
• Leadership experience in the workplace, academic projects, or competitions.
• Project management skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Familiarity with DLP tools such as Forcepoint or Microsoft Purview.
• Interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity and decision-making.
