Cybersecurity Intern

TL;DR

Cybersecurity Intern (OT Security/ICS/SCADA): Supporting the security posture of hirify.global’s Suzhou manufacturing site by assisting OT risk assessments, securing ICS/SCADA and product provisioning, and helping integrate security checks into the software/firmware SDLC with an accent on IEC 62443-aligned mitigations, SBOM/threat modeling, and vulnerability/incident support. Focus on building automation to synchronize OT asset data, reviewing network segmentation between IT/OT zones, and providing L1 support for SSE and EPM in China.

What you will do

• Assist OT security operations: perform risk assessments for factory systems (PLCs, SCADA) and support IEC 62443-aligned mitigation strategies.
• Support product security and secure manufacturing: help ensure cryptographic keys, certificates, and firmware are securely provisioned onto devices on the factory floor.
• Contribute to secure development lifecycle (SDLC): track SBOMs, assist with basic threat modeling, and help integrate security checks into the software/firmware pipeline.
• Develop automation to synchronize OT asset data into the enterprise management platform using Python and AI to improve data integrity.
• Support vulnerability and incident management in OT environments, including CSOC remediation for detected malicious activities in China.
• Help with network security reviews (segmentation, VLANs, firewall rules), plus maintain security documentation, asset inventories, and SOPs.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• Foundational knowledge of secure coding practices, basic cryptography, and IoT/embedded device or application security testing (SAST/DAST).
• Basic networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLAN/routing, DNS, and DHCP.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux.
• Basic Python scripting skills and strong interest in using AI/LLMs to automate security workflows and assist in code analysis.
• Language: Fluent in Mandarin and strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
