Field Technology Specialist (Physical Security)

Location: Houlton, ME, USA. Field-based work with travel of up to 85% of the time; indoor and outdoor work, including ladders and elevated areas.

Salary: $23.00–$40.00 per hour. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems supporting physical security and IT infrastructure.
• Deploy cameras, access control devices, power supplies, biometric systems, locking hardware, and related equipment.
• Install video and data cabling, assemble hardware with standard hand and power tools, and follow technical drawings and design specifications.
• Evaluate system performance, provide quality assurance feedback, and support system hardening and Windows-based configuration.
• Coordinate project materials and equipment, track hardware receipt, and support timely delivery of project deliverables.
• Work across changing project environments while maintaining high-quality installation and customer-focused outcomes.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in low-voltage installation, security systems, or IT hardware deployment.
• Understanding of IP-based systems and networking fundamentals, including video surveillance and low-voltage infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, design plans, and schematics; basic electrical theory knowledge is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain government-issued security clearances.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, climb ladders, lift equipment, work at heights, and travel approximately 85% of the time.

Nice to have

• A+, Network+, Security+, BICSI, or similar industry certification.
