Senior Systems Engineering Architect (Navigation Payloads): Defining satellite navigation and communication payload architectures and their end-to-end performance with an accent on subsystem specifications, performance budgets, supplier trade-offs, and verification planning. Focus on simulating satellite communication and navigation systems, analyzing payload test results, and assessing anomalies and non-conformances.
Location: Bremen, Germany; hybrid work with mobile work abroad options.

What you will do
- Define the architecture of satellite navigation and communication payloads and determine end-to-end performance.
- Write subsystem specifications, including software specifications, and assess compliance with requirements.
- Maintain system and performance budgets and contribute to overall satellite and system budgets.
- Evaluate alternative architectures and suppliers.
- Plan payload verification and specify associated EGSE.
- Support test campaigns by analyzing measured performance, anomalies, and non-conformances, and report findings to customers and senior management.
Requirements
- Degree in electrical or electronic engineering, telecommunications, signal processing, or a comparable discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong background in satellite navigation payloads or transferable domains.
- Hands-on experience defining payload architectures from concept through detailed design and validation.
- Experience simulating satellite communication and navigation systems and proficiency with relevant simulation tools.
- Familiarity with systems engineering processes and related software tools.
