Manufacturing Engineer (Medical Device)

Location: Onsite in Acton, Massachusetts, United States; approximately 10% overnight travel may be required.

Annual base salary: $76,400–$114,575 for U.S.-based positions; incentive compensation may also apply.

What you will do

• Plan, adapt, and improve manufacturing methods across captive and third-party manufacturing sites.
• Examine components, equipment, processes, operations, and finished device designs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain a cGMP-compliant environment and operate within FDA guidelines for Class II medical device manufacturing.
• Drive product and process improvements supporting the CAPA system and author and implement Engineering Change Orders.
• Generate validation and qualification protocols, coordinate execution, and prepare final reports.
• Design and coordinate manufacturing fixtures and support projects from concept and cost justification through installation, training, qualification, implementation, and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and judge priorities, maintain accurate records, and work effectively in a team while taking ownership of projects.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office, MS Project, and Statgraphics.

Nice to have

• Medical device industry experience.
• Manufacturing process knowledge in injection molding, metal stamping/forming, PCB manufacture, manual or automated assembly, decorating, extrusion, or ultrasonic welding.
• CAD experience with ProEngineer or SolidWorks.
