Information System Security Officer (ISSO) (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, DC; minimal travel and standard working hours.

Basic compensation: $110,000–$140,000 per year. Additional compensation may include bonuses, incentives, sign-on bonuses, or relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Risk Management Framework documentation, artifacts, security controls, and safeguards.
• Collaborate with ISSE and engineering teams to assess and integrate security controls into system designs and implementations.
• Monitor system security postures and verify that controls remain effective and compliant with applicable standards and regulations.
• Conduct security assessments and audits, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigations.
• Maintain security documentation describing system components and information types.
• Support security authorization and accreditation processes and compliance with federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Proven ISSO experience on a large-scale enterprise IT program.
• Six years of cybersecurity experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Scrum methodologies and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Nessus/ACAS, Splunk, STIGs, and SCAP tools.
• DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ CE or CAP.

Nice to have

• ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
• Experience with ServiceNow, eMASS, and Xacta.
• DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III certification, such as CISSP or CISM.
