Vice President, Medical Affairs (Biotech/Pharma)

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States. Regular presence at headquarters is required; travel of 25–40% may be required.

Salary: $315,000–$370,000 USD annually, plus stock options and an annual bonus program.

What you will do

• Lead the Medical Affairs function, including Field Medical Liaisons and publications.
• Develop and execute Medical Affairs strategies, operational plans, budgets, and performance indicators.
• Build and lead a global medical affairs organization supporting multiple indication launches, with an initial focus on psoriasis and envudeucitinib.
• Direct medical launch preparation and develop medically accurate provider and patient education materials.
• Partner with clinical development, commercial leadership, KOLs, academic experts, publishers, and patient associations.
• Oversee publication strategy and presentation of clinical data at major medical congresses and peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Medical Affairs experience within biotech or pharma and 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• Extensive prior experience in dermatology, particularly psoriasis, is required.
• Advanced degree such as PharmD, Ph.D., or MD is required; MD is preferred.
• Knowledge of government and industry guidelines, regulations, and laws governing scientific and medical communications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex concurrent projects, build internal and external relationships, and operate in a compliance-driven environment.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
• Experience taking a product from Phase 3 through a successful launch.
