Cadet Drafter (CAD)

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; predominantly office-based with occasional site visits

What you will do

• Set up engineering drawings and basic 3D models using CAD software.
• Extract information from engineering specifications, standards, and supplier literature for drafting tasks.
• Provide general support to senior designers and engineers.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams to develop an understanding of engineering workflows.
• Support field data acquisition during site visits, including photos, laser scanning, and measurements.

Requirements

• TAFE or other tertiary vocational training at Certificate IV or Diploma level in Building Design, Engineering Design and Drafting, or a similar field.
• Introductory training in a 3D CAD application such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12d, Revit, or MicroStation.
• Genuine interest in practical applications of technology in society.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work independently.
• Ability to work predominantly from the Melbourne office and attend occasional site visits.
