Lead Metrology Technician

What you will do

• Perform calibrations on dimensional, physical, and electrical equipment and on calibration standards.
• Guide technician workflow, provide training and coverage, and support laboratory customers.
• Configure and test equipment using work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and prescribed procedures.
• Calibrate hand tools, including micrometers, plug gages, ring gages, thread gages, and dial/test indicators.
• Assist the Lab Manager with calibration metrics and trend monitoring.
• Contribute to calibration procedures, uncertainty analysis, quality documentation, and process improvement.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree preferred, or applicable technical training and certifications with 7 years of directly related experience; equivalent experience may replace the degree.
• Experience with calibration, laboratory measuring equipment, engineering drawings, surface plate layouts, and custom gages and fixtures.
• Ability to lead and direct the work of other technicians when the supervisor is absent.
• U.S. Citizenship Status required due to the client requirement.
• Work must comply with HS&E and quality system requirements.

Nice to have

• Formal training from a military, PMEL, TMDE, or calibration school.
• IndySoft, GD&T, CAD, CMM basics, or Fluke Met/Team experience.
• Microsoft technology, including Excel.
• Previous customer service experience.
