Security Operations Manager (Cyber Security)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom. Hybrid 3-together, 2-wherever model, with attendance at the contractual location required three days per week. Candidates must be sole UK nationals and either hold or be eligible for SC Security Clearance; a full UK driving licence is required for occasional travel.

What you will do

• Build and lead a new security operations team of approximately 15–20 colleagues, including recruitment, onboarding and development.
• Deliver in-life managed security services for UK and Critical National Infrastructure customers.
• Oversee incidents, service requests, changes and problems in line with service commitments.
• Provide technical leadership by validating service designs and product specifications for scalable, resilient and operationally effective solutions.
• Coordinate with service delivery, acceptance and programme teams to transition new services and customer solutions successfully.
• Plan resources, develop capabilities and maintain 24/7 coverage across critical activities.

Requirements

• Experience leading Network Security Operations or a similar technical service environment.
• Experience managing major incidents, complex changes and risk-based decisions within governance-controlled environments.
• Knowledge of network automation, scripting and continuous improvement practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused 24/7 operational environment.
• Sole UK nationality and eligibility for SC Security Clearance are required, along with a full UK driving licence.
