PCIe QA Engineer

Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, USA

Annual base salary: USD 82,500–132,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Create and review test scenarios, test cases, and test automation for PCIe switch solutions.
• Review development specifications to understand and validate product functionality.
• Execute comprehensive functional, performance, and compliance testing across configurations and use cases.
• Collaborate with developers and testers across multiple sites.
• Review user documentation for accuracy and clarity.
• Prioritize and manage parallel testing tasks, projects, and releases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering and at least 2 years of hands-on testing experience.
• Strong PCIe testing experience, including Config Space, Link Training, ACS, Hotplug, Virtualization, P2P, BMC interaction, AER/DPC, and backplanes.
• Hands-on Python automation experience for network- and system-level programming.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and test-case design skills.
• Networking experience with protocol testing and validation.
• Excellent communication skills, critical thinking, self-direction, and a strong engineering mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with AMD or NVIDIA GPUs, RCCL/NCCL, ROCm/CUDA, and GPU microbenchmarks.
• Experience with NVMe drives and storage stress-generation tools.
• Experience with PCIe analyzers, protocol jammers, and load generators such as Medusa tools.
• Knowledge of L2/L3 protocols, especially RoCE, and AI/ML or HPC cluster use cases.
• Knowledge of deep learning models including NLP, LLMs, recommendation systems, and image classification.
