Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Reno, Nevada, United States; remote candidates may be considered, with travel to the Reno headquarters as needed. The role includes work in an office and manufacturing environment.

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable full-stack software features.
• Build intuitive tools that simplify design-to-production and customer CAD workflows.
• Develop automated validation systems that detect errors and enforce manufacturability constraints before production.
• Optimize relational database schemas, queries, application performance, reliability, security, and data integrity.
• Contribute to code reviews, architectural decisions, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated monitoring.
• Partner with Product, Production, Design, and Support while mentoring engineers through technical guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing and shipping high-quality software.
• 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails or Python/Django and a modern JavaScript framework such as Vue or React.
• Experience building and deploying full-stack web applications end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, query optimization, maintainable code, and automated testing.
• Ability to translate user and business requirements into technical specifications, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Significant Ruby on Rails experience.
• Experience with Vue and Vuex, CI/CD pipeline design, and production monitoring.
• Experience mentoring engineers and building software for manufacturing or operational workflows.
