Principal Engineer, AI Architect (Generative AI)

Location: USA, fully remote

Salary: $190,000–$210,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Architect and build next-generation conversational AI products using generative AI.
• Shape LivePerson’s AI vision in partnership with the Head of Architecture, innovation team, and principal engineers.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams while setting technical direction and best practices.
• Partner with Product to translate requirements and vision into scalable solutions.
• Design resilient, scalable, cloud-native architectures and integrate emerging AI tools and services.
• Drive engineering excellence through test automation and quality-first delivery.

Requirements

• 13+ years of experience building full-stack applications with Java and Node.js.
• 7+ years designing and architecting enterprise-grade SaaS products.
• 5+ years shipping AI products to production.
• Deep experience with cloud platforms; GCP experience is a plus.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams as a technical expert.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Communications, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python and Vue.
• Background in data analytics and reporting tools, especially for contact centers and conversational analytics.
