Senior Android Software Engineer (Android)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work with 60% of the time in the office and 40% at home. Up to 20 days of work abroad in approved countries is available.

Salary: €51,100–€62,400 per year.

What you will do

• Develop, deliver, publish, and support new features for Android applications across the customer journey, from onboarding and search to cart and checkout.
• Investigate solutions, estimate work, plan delivery, and align implementations with Product Owners, Architects, and other teams.
• Integrate REST-based services and partner solutions into the mobile applications.
• Promote test automation across unit, integration, end-to-end, UI, and performance testing.
• Build and publish application versions through Jenkins pipelines and the Google Play Store.
• Maintain existing applications, reduce technical debt, and contribute through code reviews, pair programming, incident coordination, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 6+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow, Jetpack components, Compose, ViewModel, Navigation, Room, and DataStore.
• Strong experience with Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Clean Architecture, modularization, and dependency injection using Hilt or Dagger.
• Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs with Retrofit or Ktor and optimizing app performance across memory, battery, profiling, and network usage.
• Experience with debugging, monitoring, observability, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, UI testing, and TDD.
• Ability to independently investigate, design, and implement features, with ownership of code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments, plus the ability to guide junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams. English is the working language.

Nice to have

• Experience with A/B testing, feature flags, analytics, localization, internationalization, and large-scale app optimization.
• Exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform or other cross-platform approaches.
• Knowledge of mobile security practices such as secure storage, encryption, and the Play Integrity API.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, debugging, and prototyping.
