AI Engineer Specialist (LLM)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office

Base salary: $96,000–$132,000 annually, plus bonus or commission, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and operate LLM-powered agents and applications, from focused assistants to complex multi-step systems.
• Develop agent harnesses, context and memory management, retrieval, domain skills, summarization, and context isolation for reliable long-running tasks.
• Establish evaluation, tracing, and observability to measure, debug, and improve agent behavior.
• Deploy and run agents and services in AWS, using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and infrastructure managed through Terraform.
• Build REST API and MCP integrations, work with CI/CD pipelines, and partner with product teams and clients to ship new capabilities.
• Maintain databases, queries, views, schemas, and data pipelines that keep agent knowledge and retrieval sources current.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
• Expert-level Python experience and strong knowledge of automation and orchestration frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with AI agent harness frameworks, retrieval systems, SQL, and relational databases.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, REST APIs, MCPs, AWS deployment, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Strong analytical, systems-thinking, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills; familiarity with fintech or regulated industries is preferred.
