Global Compliance & Licensing Counsel

Location: Remote within the USA. Applicants within 45 miles of the Westlake/Dallas, Texas office are expected to work onsite Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates in the DFW metroplex who can work from the Westlake office are preferred.

Annual US base salary: $144,400–$190,000 USD, with potential bonuses and additional benefits.

What you will do

• Design and scale the global compliance framework, Code of Conduct, supporting policies, and recurring risk assessments.
• Build vendor risk management programs, including compliance questionnaires, due diligence workflows, and vendor audits.
• Establish intellectual property and open-source compliance controls for proprietary code, developer agreements, and third-party license obligations.
• Create and manage a secure, multilingual whistleblower hotline, lead investigations, and report findings to executive leadership.
• Develop and enforce FCPA and UK Bribery Act-aligned anti-corruption policies and automated sanctions screening.
• Manage export controls, ECCN software classification, export licenses, end-user certifications, and screening against the OFAC SDN list.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in any US state.
• At least 3 years of compliance experience in a technology or software environment.
• Expertise in FCPA, OFAC, intellectual property law, and their application to software distribution and global operations.
• Experience building compliance programs, managing internal investigations, and handling confidential whistleblower disclosures.
• Ability to collaborate with HR, finance, engineering, and executive leadership.
• Remote work is limited to the USA; regular onsite attendance is required for applicants near the Westlake/Dallas office.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of export controls and trade compliance.
• Experience with Descartes Visual Compliance, World-Check, or similar screening tools.
• Experience automating vendor due diligence workflows.
