Senior Thermal Analysis Engineer

Location: Houston, United States. The role is generally based in an office environment and may require evening and weekend work during critical project milestones.

What you will do

• Develop and run component and spacecraft thermal math models using SINDA/FLUINT and Thermal Desktop.
• Design active and passive thermal control solutions for station subsystems and assemblies.
• Select thermal materials and evaluate the effects of solar radiation, Earth albedo, planetary infrared, and deep-space cold.
• Correlate thermal test data with analytical models to improve prediction accuracy.
• Prepare technical reports, document analysis results, and ensure compliance with NASA standards and requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and report project progress and risks to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in equipment specification or a similar area.
• 4+ years of spacecraft thermal analysis experience in the space industry.
• Experience with thermal testing, thermal math model validation, and hand or spreadsheet calculations.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or SpaceClaim.
• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.

• Experience with MLI and DraftSight.
