DevSecOps Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; work-from-home flexibility with on-site support as required

Basic compensation: $126,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across development, integration, test, and operational environments.
• Build automated deployment processes, Git-based workflows, branching strategies, and release tooling.
• Deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes environments and containerized applications.
• Develop Helm charts, deployment templates, environment configurations, release packages, rollback strategies, and deployment validation.
• Integrate security controls, scanning, compliance checks, vulnerability remediation, and operational monitoring into delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with software developers, AI engineers, platform and systems engineers, cyber personnel, and operational stakeholders.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, platform engineering, release engineering, or software delivery.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development workflows, Kubernetes administration, Helm charts, and deployment configurations.
• Experience with containerized applications, cloud-native architectures, multi-environment software lifecycles, and security domains.
• Strong scripting or automation skills with Bash, Python, or Go, plus troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Active Secret or higher clearance and experience with Space Systems Command, DoD software programs, mission systems, SATCOM, or operational C2 environments.
• Experience with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD, Argo Workflows, Tekton, Harbor, Nexus, or Artifactory.
• Experience with artifact signing, SBOM generation, provenance validation, Kubernetes security tools, policy engines, and runtime security platforms.
• Familiarity with IL5, IL6, air-gapped, classified, or multiple security-enclave deployments; Terraform, OpenTofu, or Ansible.
• Experience with MLOps platforms, AI workload orchestration, software factories, Agile environments, or relevant technical certifications.
