Browser Extension Engineer

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain browser extensions for Chrome, Edge, and other major browsers using Manifest V3 and modern browser APIs.
• Develop secure features that interact with web content and backend services.
• Optimize extension performance and reliability across diverse environments and user workflows.
• Integrate browser functionality with endpoint agent and backend services.
• Track changes in browser APIs, security standards, and the extension ecosystem.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous development improvement.

Requirements

• Extensive software engineering experience, including coding, testing, debugging, and automation of complex TypeScript and JavaScript applications.
• Ability to inspect network traffic, DOM structures, and client-side code in third-party web applications.
• Focus on correctness, performance, and reliability of background processes.
• Ability to learn evolving browser extension technologies and manifest specifications quickly.
• Strong communication, self-sufficiency, and effective coordination with developers working on endpoint and backend platforms.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience building or maintaining browser extensions, especially Chrome or Chromium extensions using Manifest V3.
• Experience with background scripts, content scripts, extension messaging, Firefox, or Edge.
• Understanding of extension permissions, content security policy, isolated worlds, and secure communication between contexts.
• Experience building cybersecurity products such as Data Loss Prevention or Data Security Posture Management tools.
