Analytics Engineer (Legal AI)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid work with in-person collaboration at the Milan HQ

Salary: €45,000–€70,000 annual salary plus equity

What you will do

• Own the data transformation layer from raw sources to trusted, documented datasets using dbt and BigQuery.
• Model product analytics events, engineering metrics, and business KPIs into reliable self-service data models.
• Build and maintain data foundations, dashboards, and semantic layers for Product, Customer Success, and Sales.
• Implement data quality frameworks including tests, freshness checks, anomaly detection, dataset ownership, and SLAs.
• Collaborate with engineers on event tracking and data contracts across Pub/Sub and application events.
• Partner with the AI & Search Platform team to measure model performance, feedback loops, and benchmark results, while supporting product analysis.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data analysis with a strong engineering mindset.
• Expert SQL skills and hands-on experience with dbt Core or dbt Cloud.
• Solid experience with BigQuery or comparable cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or Redshift.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data testing, and documentation-as-code practices.
• Comfort working in a Python ecosystem and building data models for multiple stakeholders.
• Fluent English required; Italian is a strong plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures, Pub/Sub, Kafka, and streaming data.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Pinecone, or vector databases.
• Experience with engineering metrics, BI and visualization tools, or developer productivity measurement.
• Interest in AI/ML model evaluation and LLM output quality measurement.
• Previous legal-tech, RegTech, or B2B SaaS experience.
