Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: London; hybrid working model. Work abroad is permitted for up to 3 months per year.

What you will do

• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code templates and modules for engineering projects.
• Build AWS multi-account core infrastructure and promote security best practices across the cloud estate.
• Create and optimize CI/CD templates to support frequent, reliable releases.
• Design and implement a developer portal with a service catalog and DevOps plugins.
• Improve observability practices and provide SLI/SLO metric reporting to balance velocity and reliability.
• Develop internal and open-source projects that improve developer experience.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of AWS services including ECS, EC2, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route53, CloudFront, S3, and RDS.
• Experience with scalable CI/CD pipelines, Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code, Linux, Git, and Docker.
• Good scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go, with proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management; OpenTelemetry, AWS CloudWatch, and SigNoz experience is beneficial.
• Basic SRE knowledge and familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Passion for developer experience and enthusiasm for Platform Engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenTelemetry, AWS CloudWatch, or SigNoz.
• Previous fintech experience.
