Senior Business Analyst (Accounting Systems)

What you will do

• Act as the primary liaison between accounting users, project teams, vendors, implementation partners, and technology stakeholders.
• Lead requirements sessions, stakeholder interviews, and workshops; document current- and future-state processes, requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Analyze accounting operations and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Support accounting transformations, system implementations, process redesign, solution design reviews, and data conversion activities.
• Develop and execute UAT strategies, write test scripts and scenarios, coordinate business-user testing, and track defects through resolution and sign-off.
• Support data validation, reconciliations, risk and issue management, project documentation, training materials, and business communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent accounting-related education and experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and controls, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, or order-to-cash.
• 8+ years of business analysis experience supporting accounting, finance, or financial systems initiatives.
• Hands-on ownership of requirements, business process documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder workshops.
• Experience with Blackline, Kyriba, Guidewire, or similar accounting, financial, treasury, or policy administration platforms.
• Experience with accounting transformations, complex financial data, reconciliations, data validation, UAT, defect management, and business sign-off.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Commercial insurance industry experience.
• Consulting experience supporting multiple clients or large-scale transformation initiatives.
