Staff Site Reliability Engineer (FedRAMP)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; New York, New York; San Francisco, California; or Washington, DC. The employee must be a US Person and remain on US soil, including the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or applicable US outlying areas.

Salary: $194,000–$267,000 annual base salary for candidates in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington; $174,000–$239,000 annual base salary for other listed locations. Equity, bonus, and benefits may also apply.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate large-scale cloud infrastructure and highly available customer-facing production services.
• Lead incident response, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvements to availability, scalability, performance, and resilience.
• Define and improve SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and operational reliability practices.
• Develop automation, infrastructure, tooling, self-service platforms, and operational guardrails using Go, Python, Terraform, and related technologies.
• Improve deployment safety and operational workflows through CI/CD, GitOps, and platform engineering.
• Lead cross-team reliability initiatives, influence architecture, mentor engineers, and own projects through production rollout and ongoing operations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience architecting and operating large-scale production services in AWS and/or GCP.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, Linux systems, multi-region cloud architecture, networking, scaling, and workload lifecycle management.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code and software engineering skills with Terraform, Helm, Go, and/or Python.
• Experience operating distributed data platforms such as PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, MySQL, or Cassandra.
• Experience with observability, CI/CD, incident response, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, security, IAM, and secrets management.
• US Person status and work from US soil are required for FedRAMP projects; this means US citizenship or a Green Card, with no separate citizenship requirement.

Nice to have

• Experience with FedRAMP, SOC 2, HIPAA, or other regulated government cloud environments.
• Experience operating SaaS platforms and Kubernetes-based microservices at scale.
• Experience with GitOps, ArgoCD, and AI-assisted operational tooling.
