Software Development Engineer - US Federal

Location: Reston, Virginia, USA; United States citizenship is required for U.S. Federal Government contracts; at least 50% of time each quarter is spent in the office or in the field.

Salary: $137,000–$205,400 USD annual base pay for the primary location; additional U.S. locations: $123,900–$222,000 USD.

What you will do

• Manage and optimize hirify.global deployments in U.S. Federal cloud regions.
• Deploy the hirify.global technology stack in air-gapped cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain deployment tools, automation frameworks, and analytics.
• Support operating systems, databases, middleware, networks, and deployment infrastructure.
• Partner with Federal Cyber Defense and commercial software engineering teams on security, scalability, and operational improvements.
• Design, code, debug, document, and support programming and deployment solutions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience deploying large-scale, complex applications, including 3+ years of cloud deployments on AWS or GCP.
• 2+ years of experience with Ansible, Python, Go, Chef, Puppet, CI/CD, build management, and monitoring.
• Experience with networks, servers, storage, operating systems, deployment orchestration, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong Unix/Linux and Python scripting skills; experience troubleshooting network, firewall, and connectivity issues with tools such as tcpdump.
• Experience creating and operating production deployment automation frameworks using tools such as Ansible and Jenkins.
• United States citizenship is mandatory for work supporting U.S. Federal Government contracts.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Git, TeamCity, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Tomcat, ZooKeeper, or Kafka.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and Jira.
