Data Strategy Lead (AI)

Location: Newport Beach, California, USA (preferred) or New York City office

Salary: $205,000–$305,000 base salary, plus discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Shape the technical vision for data management and production supporting portfolio research, analytical tools, dashboards, and decision support.
• Oversee an internal data catalog for discovering, accessing, and governing market and analytical data.
• Design scalable data pipelines, production workflows, and reusable libraries for time series, financial modeling, risk, and performance analysis.
• Integrate new data sources through ingestion, transformation, validation, and cost-effective acquisition strategies.
• Lead automated data quality controls, anomaly detection, reconciliation, monitoring, root cause analysis, and remediation.
• Partner with Technology, Analytics, and Portfolio Management leaders on architecture, lifecycle management, CI/CD, documentation, and AI/LLM initiatives.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative field preferred.
• Experience architecting and managing production data pipelines and analytics platforms in financial services or asset management.
• Ability to lead technical teams and collaborate across business and technology functions.
• Programming experience in Python and experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies such as AWS and Snowflake.
• Expertise in time series analysis, financial modeling, quantitative analytics, and global markets including fixed income, commodities, equities, and derivatives.
• Strong background in data querying, search, monitoring, and root cause analysis.
