Software Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote within the UK, or offices in Glasgow, London, Newcastle, Cardiff, Belfast, and Salford.

Salary: £47,750–£57,750 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

hirify.global Media Tech develops and operates technology supporting the hirify.global’s television and broadcast services.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software applications and services for Project Playback.
• Build and operate the next-generation cloud-native television playout platform on AWS.
• Deploy and automate third-party broadcast software in AWS environments.
• Build CI/CD infrastructure, monitoring, alarming, and production support capabilities.
• Contribute to technical decisions covering resilience, performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with project managers, systems engineers, architects, testers, and operational users while troubleshooting defects and live production issues.

Requirements

• Experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications and services on AWS.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including AWS CodeBuild.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Experience using AWS CDK to define and deploy infrastructure as code.
• Experience troubleshooting, monitoring, and supporting production systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with media, broadcast, streaming, or video delivery workflows and technologies such as AS-11, SRT, MPEG-TS, MOS, or SCTE.
• Experience deploying third-party software into the cloud through repeatable automation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, or related observability tools.
• Knowledge of load balancing, routing, firewalls, and DNS.
