Software Engineer in Test (AWS/TypeScript)

Location: Glasgow, London, Newcastle, Cardiff, Belfast, Salford, or remote within the UK.

Salary: £47,750–£57,750 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Define and execute functional, integration, end-to-end, performance, and resilience testing strategies.
• Develop automated test frameworks and validation processes for a cloud-native AWS playout platform.
• Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, architects, project managers, operational teams, and end users.
• Validate cloud infrastructure, APIs, third-party applications, and broadcast technologies.
• Orchestrate user acceptance testing and contribute to discussions on observability, scalability, security, and reliability.

Requirements

• Experience testing cloud-native applications and services deployed in AWS environments.
• Experience developing automated tests and test frameworks using TypeScript.
• Experience testing APIs and strong knowledge of unit, API, integration, component, end-to-end, performance, security, and resilience testing.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and alerting tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Ability to work from the listed UK locations or remotely within the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience with Playwright or Jest.
• Experience with performance, load, resilience, or chaos testing, including AWS Fault Injection Service.
• Experience with media, broadcast, streaming, or video delivery workflows.
• Knowledge of AS-11, SRT, MPEG-TS, MOS, or SCTE.
