Staff Software Engineer in Test (AI): Leading quality assurance across a multi-team SaaS program by building test strategies and automation for AWS, .NET, Angular, APIs, and microservices with an accent on shift-left quality, DevSecOps, and AI-augmented testing. Focus on designing Playwright and CI/CD frameworks, validating AI systems for safety and bias, and improving coverage, resilience, and reliability through observability and analytics.
Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work model with onsite presence at least 50% of the time for employees within commuting distance of a office.

What you will do
- Lead quality assurance strategy and execution across multiple Scrum teams and complex microservices, frontend, backend, and API architectures.
- Design and maintain test automation frameworks using TypeScript, Playwright, AWS CDK, and CI/CD integrations.
- Evaluate AI-driven testing approaches, including intelligent test generation, defect prediction, and adaptive test strategies using LLMs and other AI models.
- Embed bias detection, safety validation, explainability checks, and monitoring into QA processes for AI-enabled systems.
- Use observability and data analytics to improve testing coverage, performance, resilience, and reliability.
- Lead strategy and architecture reviews, collaborate across engineering teams, and mentor engineers in automation and AI-enhanced QA practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering in test roles within commercial software environments.
- Strong TypeScript and end-to-end testing experience with Playwright or a similar tool.
- Experience with API and backend testing across microservices and monolithic systems.
- Experience designing automation frameworks and integrating them with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with AWS serverless services, infrastructure as code, Docker, observability tools, IAM, secrets management, and DevSecOps.
- Strong understanding of AI in software engineering, including LLM-assisted test generation, AI component validation, prompt testing, and model input/output verification; strong communication and mentoring skills.
