Security Infrastructure Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Salary: $218,420–$273,360 CAD base salary

What you will do

• Design and build security controls across cloud platforms, operating systems, Kubernetes, networks, and CI/CD systems.
• Identify and implement security and privacy features, bug fixes, and defense-in-depth improvements across the codebase.
• Audit infrastructure for technical security weaknesses and drive mitigations through resolution.
• Support engineering decisions through threat modeling and security analysis.
• Write software for approximately 25–50% of the role, in addition to operational and governance security work.
• Act as a subject matter expert during security incidents, focusing on infrastructure-level containment and remediation.

Requirements

• Expertise in cloud platform security, especially AWS, multi-cloud networks and infrastructure, and cloud-agnostic system design.
• Familiarity with container and orchestration security, authentication and authorization, and operating system security mechanisms.
• Knowledge of web and internet security fundamentals, including WAFs, TLS, PKI, and DNS security.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language; Go is used at hirify.global. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible is required.
• Experience in infrastructure security, security operations, threat modeling, digital forensics, or incident response.
• Knowledge of common networking protocols and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic startup environment.
