Staff Software Engineer (C++) - Radar Sensors

Location: Pittsburgh, PA; Palo Alto, CA; Detroit, MI; or remote within the United States. Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required. Visa sponsorship is available.

Expected base salary in California: $218,240–$327,360 per year, plus eligibility for annual bonuses, equity compensation, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Develop safe and efficient embedded software for radar, lidar, and IMU sensors.
• Design, implement, and test high-performance C++ code for resource-constrained environments.
• Work with the Software Architect to implement system designs and maintain high-quality code.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers and hardware and systems engineers to deliver production-ready sensing products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience; equivalent requirements apply for master’s and PhD degrees.
• Strong experience developing embedded applications and systems using C++.
• Proficiency in network communication concepts, including protocols, physical-layer requirements, bandwidth characteristics, and configuration.
• Experience with multi-processor SoCs or similar embedded processors.
• Strong software design, algorithmic, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Permanent United States work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is available.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with FreeRTOS and/or Embedded Linux.
• Experience developing software for complex, safety-critical sensing systems.
• Knowledge of network-based sensors such as radar and lidar.
• Technical leadership experience taking automotive products into production.
