Chief Compliance Officer, Head of Compliance - Southeast Asia

What you will do

• Develop and execute the Southeast Asia Compliance strategy in alignment with regional growth priorities.
• Advise senior management and business functions on regulatory risks, product development, distribution strategies, and market expansion.
• Oversee compliance monitoring, testing, surveillance, policies, procedures, and regulatory change management across multiple jurisdictions.
• Maintain relationships with regulators, auditors, and clients, and represent Compliance in senior governance forums.
• Modernise the Compliance function through technology, digitisation, automation, data-driven solutions, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
• Lead and develop the Southeast Asia Compliance team while promoting integrity, accountability, risk awareness, and effective resource allocation.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Law, Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 12–15+ years of experience in Compliance or Legal roles within asset management or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Southeast Asia regulatory frameworks and experience operating across multiple jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and enhancing Compliance programs.
• Experience supporting business growth initiatives, including product development, distribution expansion, and market entry.
• Strong regulatory, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and commercial judgment capabilities.

Nice to have

• Experience in institutional or retail asset management.
• Background in fixed income, alternatives, equities, distribution, marketing regulation, trading, research, or portfolio management.
