Target Validation Sr Director (AI/ML)

Location: Corporate Headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California, United States; conditions listed in South San Francisco, California.

Annual base salary: $265,405–$312,459.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary organization of approximately 25 scientists within Research Biology.
• Integrate experimental disciplines and workflows to deliver molecular insights for target discovery.
• Set platform priorities, resource allocation, and capacity planning aligned with Research Biology and therapeutic-area priorities.
• Drive automated experimental workflows and integrate AI/ML capabilities into research programs.
• Serve as a senior scientific partner to Target Discovery and therapeutic-area stakeholders.
• Guide target discovery, validation, prioritization, and communication of complex scientific and data-driven insights.

Requirements

• PhD in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, computational biology, immunology, oncology, metabolism, or a related discipline, plus 7 years of scientific leadership experience; or a master’s degree plus 10 years; or a bachelor’s degree plus 12 years.
• Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or equivalent research environments.
• Experience leading mechanistic discovery research programs and omics platforms.
• Experience integrating experimental science with enterprise data, analytics, or AI/ML capabilities.
• Experience applying genetics, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, structural, and AI/ML approaches to biological research.
• Strong scientific communication, mentorship, team-building, and talent-development skills.
