Manager, Mission Software

hirify.global is developing Seagliders, wing-in-ground-effect vehicles designed for fast, affordable, and sustainable coastal transportation of passengers and cargo.

What you will do

• Build and grow the mission software group, including team structure, hiring, engineering standards, and ownership boundaries.
• Lead software across crew and cabin systems, mission and autonomy applications, test and ground systems, and vehicle software operations.
• Review and write production software while setting technical direction across prototype and certified vehicle programs.
• Develop cockpit displays and crew-facing software from prototype stage toward certifiable flight software in partnership with certification teams.
• Support live vehicle test operations, including console activities and turning test results into engineering answers within 24 hours.
• Integrate software with controls, embedded systems, simulation, autonomy, systems engineering, and test organizations.

Requirements

• Experience building software for vehicles, operational systems, or test programs and leading engineers as a manager or technical lead.
• Strong delivery ownership, including milestone planning, execution, hiring, retention, and people management.
• Deep expertise in at least one mission software area and sufficient breadth to review work across the other areas.
• Strong C++ design and coding skills, with Python for tooling, automation, and analysis.
• Experience delivering software under aerospace, automotive, space, or comparable design-assurance obligations, plus operational experience with real vehicles or live test campaigns.
• Technical foundation in computer science, software engineering, robotics, or a related discipline through a degree or equivalent hands-on experience.

Nice to have

• DO-178C display software, safety-rendering overlays, crew alerting, cabin systems, or vehicle systems experience.
• Autonomy or mission-planning integration, flight-test instrumentation and telemetry, or ground control station development.
• DDS or similar publish/subscribe middleware, over-the-air updates, fleet deployment, time-series data platforms, or vehicle health management.
• Maritime or classification-society experience, or experience establishing software processes at a small company.
