Staff Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Hybrid, with required work from the Vilnius office at least 3 days per week; offices are also available in Kaunas.

Salary: €4,500–€6,667 gross monthly, plus approximately 10% annual bonuses and a Booking Holdings RSU package worth $20,000 gross.

What you will do

• Maintain performant search and booking logic for global enterprise customers.
• Lead the design of high-performance, low-latency integration frameworks for third-party APIs.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering squads and guide architectural decisions.
• Improve the engineering lifecycle through observability, CI/CD maturity, code quality standards, and distributed-systems practices.
• Translate business objectives into technical specifications and communicate architectural risks and opportunities to leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with the Java ecosystem and Spring Framework, including Spring Boot and Spring Security.
• Expertise in high-throughput data environments using PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis.
• Knowledge of B2B integration patterns including SAML, OAuth2, OIDC, and SCIM.
• Experience integrating automated user lifecycle management with Okta, Workday, or Azure AD.
• Good command of English.
