Business Development Producer (Game Development)

Independent video game development company specializing in full-cycle game development and art production for console, PC, and mobile games, with studios across Asia, Europe, and North America.

What you will do

• Identify and develop new business opportunities with Japanese game publishers and developers.
• Proactively propose remakes, remasters, ports, and co-development projects based on existing game IPs.
• Research game IPs, market trends, historical performance, target audiences, competing titles, and platform opportunities.
• Build business and creative rationales explaining why an IP should be revisited, how it could be modernized, and how development could succeed.
• Create pitch decks, project proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials, and present them to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate with global studios and internal production, creative, engineering, art, and business development teams from initial concept through potential project award.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience in the game industry, ideally in business development, production, publishing, product management, or a related role.
• Established network with major Japanese game publishers and developers.
• Strong understanding of Japanese game publishers, developers, franchises, and market dynamics.
• Ability to analyze game IPs and market opportunities and turn insights into convincing proposals.
• Experience presenting proposals to producers, development leaders, executives, or other senior client stakeholders.
• Native or professional-level Japanese, plus strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in console or PC game development or publishing.
• Experience with remakes, remasters, ports, co-development, or external development.
• Experience bringing Japanese game IPs to international markets.
• Market, competitive, or commercial analysis experience for games.
