Software Engineer II (Java)

What you will do

• Design and code application modules with minimal supervision, following development best practices.
• Write unit tests and implement CI/CD requirements for application delivery.
• Participate in architecture and code reviews to maintain effective designs and coding standards.
• Review code proactively, identify defects early, and resolve software issues.
• Follow DevOps and global information security guidelines when developing and deploying applications.
• Maintain user story status in Jira and update relevant Confluence documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Java software development, preferably in the financial industry.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong Java programming experience with an in-depth understanding of core Java.
• Knowledge of SQL and database modeling, including basic database tuning.
• Basic knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka and Unix.

Nice to have

• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React.
• Cloud experience.
