Senior FX Artist (Houdini)

Location: 100% remote within the United Kingdom; no exceptions to the local working-rights requirement during the contract period.

What you will do

• Collaborate with supervisors and production to create high-quality visual effects for assigned shows.
• Produce compelling look-tests from reference materials and creative briefs.
• Ensure effects integrate seamlessly with the existing production pipeline.
• Meet project milestones, show schedules, and production deadlines.
• Apply problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience creating FX with Houdini, including relevant Houdini FX plugins.
• Practical experience with rigid-body and particle dynamics, volume modeling and rendering, procedural geometry generation, or fluid dynamics.
• Strong understanding of physical dynamics and natural phenomena.
• Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Arts, or Fine Arts, or equivalent professional production experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to take precise direction from show leads and supervisors.
• Must be able to work remotely from within the United Kingdom with unrestricted local working rights.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Embergen.
• Experience with 3ds Max or Maya.
• Scripting proficiency.
