Principal Counsel, Regulatory (Securities Regulation)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; hybrid work environment with defined in-person presence requirements

Salary: $131,200–$238,300 annually for work performed in MA, MD, VA, or Washington, DC. Other disclosed ranges are $114,200–$207,200 in CO, FL, and TX; $125,900–$228,000 in IL and PA; and $131,200–$248,700 in NY and NJ.

What you will do

• Advise the Board of Governors, hirify.global advisory committees, and senior executives on regulatory initiatives and rule changes.
• Draft and review rule proposals, SEC filings, Regulatory Notices, rule guidance, and related correspondence.
• Conduct legal and regulatory-policy research and respond to internal and external comments, interpretive requests, and exemptive requests.
• Work with Regulatory Economics and Market Analysis on economic impact assessments of rulemakings.
• Engage with SEC staff, regulators, industry groups, member firms, outside counsel, and other interested parties.
• Present regulatory-policy analyses at conferences and advisory committee meetings while developing innovative changes to existing rules.

Requirements

• Law degree and appropriate licensing to practice law in all applicable jurisdictions.
• At least six years of directly related legal experience.
• Advanced working knowledge of securities-industry laws, rules, and regulations.
• Strong organizational, analytical, judgment, oral communication, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with defined in-person presence requirements in Washington, DC.
