Senior Network Programmer (C/C++)

Location: Full-time, permanent, in-office position in Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and extend networking systems across gaming platforms.
• Synchronise gameplay state and game entities between players in multiplayer sessions.
• Optimise networking systems to reduce CPU, memory, and bandwidth usage.
• Build bandwidth-efficient synchronisation that performs well over home Internet connections.
• Improve prediction and interpolation so game entities move smoothly under high latency and packet loss.
• Collaborate with the network team to meet development targets efficiently.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial games programming experience.
• Experience working on at least one shipped game, ideally through submission and release.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-motivated approach to work.

Nice to have

• Experience with networking prediction and interpolation systems.
• Experience working with Xbox and Sony console platforms.
• Experience with low-level network libraries.
