What you will do
- Develop cohesive, commercially focused product ranges aligned with brand and divisional strategy.
- Work with Design, Merchandising, Marketing, Garment Technology, and Sourcing to shape product direction and supply partnerships.
- Deliver department sales, margin, and profit KPIs while identifying opportunities, managing risks, and staying within OTB.
- Use sales, trend, market, and competitor insights to evolve the buy for global customer needs.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives, trial calendars, sustainable material opportunities, and in-season range adjustments.
- Lead and develop Assistant Buyers and Buyers’ Assistants through clear direction, feedback, training, and inclusive collaboration.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Junior Buyer or Buyer in a fast-paced, rapidly changing global retailer.
- Proven ability to drive department performance through creative and commercial thinking.
- Strong awareness of fashion trends, retail market conditions, competitors, and global product, pricing, and trading activity.
- Highly developed negotiation, influencing, prioritisation, and systems skills, including trading systems and MS Office.
- Experience using data, market insights, planning documents, and trading documents to support commercial decisions.
- Effective inclusive leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
