What you will do
- Translate human genetic evidence into insights for target discovery, indication selection, and patient subgroup identification.
- Design, execute, and interpret human genetics studies across neurological, psychiatric, ophthalmological, hearing-, and aging-related diseases.
- Collaborate with human genetics scientists, bioinformaticians, statistical geneticists, and RGC teams.
- Generate, summarize, and present complex genetic findings to internal and external audiences.
- Lead or contribute to scientific reports, publications, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Collaborate with external industry and academic partners in scientific consortia.
Requirements
- MD or MD/PhD with a strong background in human genetics or genetic epidemiology.
- Experience designing and leading human genetics studies that deliver medically relevant findings.
- Knowledge of GWAS, exome or genome sequencing, and cohort, case-control, or family-based study designs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex genetic findings to varied audiences.
- Experience or familiarity with statistical genetics applications such as polygenic risk scores, quantitative trait analyses, and Mendelian randomization.
- Programming or statistical software experience, including Python or R, and experience integrating genetics with epigenetics, proteomics, or RNA-seq are preferred.
