Location: Tarrytown, New York, or Cambridge, Massachusetts; 4 days onsite

What you will do

  • Lead compliance across approximately 150 global data licensing collaborations involving genetic and associated health data.
  • Partner with counsel, research, technology, and the Privacy Office on GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, NIH Genomic Data Sharing Policy, and GA4GH compliance.
  • Develop and operationalize data governance policies, procedures, consent frameworks, and data use agreements.
  • Lead data security stewardship and evaluate privacy-preserving technologies with IT Security.
  • Monitor global regulatory developments and advise leadership on compliance risks and policy adaptations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team while collaborating with Legal, IT Security, Research, and Business Development.

Requirements

  • PhD in Genetics, Genomics, Bioethics, Life Sciences, or a related field, or a relevant degree combined with data governance and compliance experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in data governance, compliance, or regulatory affairs, including at least 5 years focused on genetic or health data.
  • Experience in research, biopharmaceutical, or biotechnology environments.
  • CIPP/E or CIPP/US certification is strongly preferred.
