Cybersecurity Senior Advisor

Location: Hybrid role based in Rosemead, California; employees must work and reside in California unless otherwise noted. The role requires reporting to an SCE facility for a set number of days, remote work on remaining days, and up to 10% travel throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation may apply.

Salary: $182,800–$274,100 annually

What you will do

• Lead deep cybersecurity risk assessments across enterprise IT and critical operational technology environments.
• Perform threat modeling, attack-path analysis, vulnerability discovery, control validation, and configuration reviews.
• Translate assessment findings into measurable remediation plans with clear owners, timelines, and outcomes.
• Design and maintain secure-by-default baselines, hardened system profiles, access controls, key and secret handling, and automated security guardrails for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Coordinate complex security initiatives from design through rollout with infrastructure teams, internal stakeholders, vendors, and managed security providers.
• Support security investigations, root-cause analysis, compliance mapping, incident response, and risk exception management.

Requirements

• Ten or more years of experience in information technology, information security, and/or cybersecurity.
• US citizenship required.
• Experience with enterprise security assessments, control validation, configuration reviews, penetration testing, code review, or vulnerability triage.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, and ISO 27001, including translating requirements into controls and evidence.
• Strong Windows/Linux, TCP/IP, DNS, PKI, and TLS fundamentals applied to security analysis and troubleshooting.
• Must pass a NERC/CIP Personnel Risk Assessment or Background Investigation and complete required training before receiving unescorted access.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, cybersecurity, environmental or physical sciences, business, or a related discipline.
• CISSP, GSEC, GICSP, or another relevant security certification.
• Operational Technology experience with industrial networks, Purdue model concepts, segmentation, or constrained asset inventories.
