Video Desk Senior Producer, NBC News Digital (Video Production)

Location: 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, New York; hybrid schedule with office attendance a minimum of four days per week

Salary: $115,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead daily editorial coverage and help coordinate producers across NBC News bureaus.
• Acquire, select, edit, publish, and distribute live and on-demand video for NBCNews.com, mobile, social, and external platforms.
• Monitor incoming feeds and streaming channels, route feeds for simulcasts and live streams, and prepare supplemental onscreen graphics.
• Edit user-generated videos and raw feeds, write headlines and captions, and select promotional images.
• Use analytics to support data-informed coverage decisions and quickly resolve production issues.
• Oversee, coach, train, and provide editorial feedback to producers while supporting coverage planning, scheduling, and staffing.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience producing and editing video for digital, social, and mobile platforms.
• Proficiency with nonlinear editing systems such as Avid or Premiere; experience with content management and online publishing systems.
• Strong journalistic writing, editorial judgment, AP Style knowledge, SEO familiarity, and the ability to create fair, accurate headlines and captions.
• Experience with analytics tools, basic photo editing, and digital news or current-events coverage.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, multitasking, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and at least four days per week from the New York office under the hybrid schedule.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, storytelling, multimedia creation, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Background in broadcast news production.
• Experience with Avid video editing.
• Knowledge of NBC News policies, guidelines, and practices.
