Packaging Line Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Opelika, Alabama, United States. Day shift: 4:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Employees must stand and walk for the full shift.

Salary: $37,000–$60,000 per year, plus potential annual performance bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust packaging and labeling equipment.
• Package vitamin products in compliance with standard operating procedures, GMP requirements, and safety rules.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform root cause analysis with training, and use hand tools to assemble or disassemble equipment parts.
• Track line efficiency and downtime and work to improve changeover times.
• Complete production, cleaning, and batch records accurately.
• Coordinate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to maintain product quality and production efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or five years of equivalent related work experience.
• Proficient English ability is required to read and write effectively, understand procedures and manufacturing instructions, and communicate with staff.
• Ability to read and follow GMPs, packaging standards, batch records, and verbal and written instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and ability to operate filling and labeling equipment, controls, pallet jacks, and hand tools.
• Ability to intermittently lift or move loads up to 50 pounds with mechanical aids and perform basic math in English.
• Ability to work a full shift standing and walking, including pulling, pushing, bending, and twisting.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, packaging, or shipping.
• Lean manufacturing training or experience in continuous process improvement.
