Software Engineer (C/C++/Python)

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of two days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Work with customer-facing teams to understand requirements and translate them into software designs.
• Develop complex packet-forwarding features across IPv4/IPv6/MPLS, EVPN-VxLAN, multicast, firewall and filtering, CoS, DHCP, and other services.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve complex microkernel and Linux issues.
• Drive innovation and solve complex technical problems with cross-functional teams.
• Resolve customer issues reported from the field and support customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and enhance existing software features.

Requirements

• B.E. or BTech degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong C, C++, and Python programming, software design, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong networking background, with experience in routers or switches.
• Understanding of multicore software architectures, computer architecture, data structures, programming practices, and the product development cycle.
• Ability to deliver software projects on time and with high quality, communicate effectively, work independently, and collaborate in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with datapath ASICs or NPUs such as Broadcom, Mellanox, Innovium, or Barefoot.
• Experience developing software for routers and switches.
